1 〔(賭けなどで)運のいい人〕 a person who is in luck; a lucky person.

●競馬でも競輪でも儲けるなんて, あいつは本当に当たり屋だ. He's really lucky to win at both a horse race and a bicycle race! | The guy won both on the horses and on the bicycle race. Some people have all the luck!

2 〔野球で〕 a batter who gets a lot of hits.

●その日の当たり屋だった. He had a hot bat that day. | He was a “swat king” for the day.

3 〔わざと自動車にぶつかる人〕 a person who deliberately contrives to be hit by an automobile for the purpose of extortion.
